EASYRIDERS CHARLOTTE BIKE SHOW

by DAVE NICHOLS / V-Twin Motorcycles

MIGHT AS WELL JUMP!

Have you ever wondered where we get all the wild custom scoots seen in Easyriders? It’s easy to find America's best custom bikes when you have top shelf bike shows around the country in which to showcase them.  Thanks to John Green and our Easyriders/V-Twin Bike Show crew, we offer up some of the finest custom motorcycle shows on the planet.  Each year, one of those shows is held in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it’s always a mind-blowing cavalcade of custom creations.

This year's show held on January 27 and 28 in the lavish Charlotte Convention Center offered up two days of gleaming sleds, those sexy dancing sirens The Purrfect Angelz, killer rock 'n' roll by Jasmine Cain, frosty beer, good grub and a vast assortment of vendors.

Thousands of happy event goers lined up to enter to win an incredible custom bike by Carolina Custom Products as well as to check out the killer customs and meet our resident master bike builders: The Detroit Brothers, Kendall Johnson, Rock 'em & Sock 'em, Rucker Performance, Austin Weis and Paul Yaffe.

This year the weather was nice enough to ride your bike to the show, believe it or not.  If you were a little chilly when you walked in, our Ms. Easyriders, Sophia, made sure your blood was pumpin' to warm you up in nothing flat.  Memorable customs in this year's Judged Class included a badass bobber by Ben Jordon, a gorgeous green chop job by John Dodson of Gangster Choppers and a wild rigid springer by Bill Steele.  Editor's choice went to Steve "Brewdude" Garn for his righteous 1945 flat trackin' flathead.

As you read this there's still time to make it to an Easyriders/V-Twin Bike Show.  If you hurry, there's a show coming to Denver, Colorado, April 7, to Hartford, Connecticut on April 14, to Dallas, Texas, on April 21, and the Invitational Show in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 5.  Come and watch the sparks fly as our Show builders create a bike from scratch right before your amazed eyes.

This year, three master bike builders in the new Pro Class are chosen from each of our bike shows to compete at the Kansas City Invitational for honors, awards and the chance to be one of the six top builders in our Bike Show Tour for 2008.  In Charlotte, the winning Pro Class builders were: Shannon Davidson of the Chopp Shopp; Mike Pruss of South Florida Choppers; and Austin Weiss of Streamline Designs.  Congratulations and a raisin pie to all!

Special thanks to the proud sponsors of the Easyriders Bike Shows, Lucas Oil, Carolina Custom Products, Rucker Performance, Jireh Cycle, Belt Drives Limited, Supertrapp, S&S Cycle, Baker Drivetrain, Avon Tyres, Bikernet and Performance Machine.
