2006 Top 10 Production Motorcycles

By JOHN SULLIVAN / Easyriders

August 2006 – It’s that time of year again; when we lay out our pick of the Top 10 production bikes. This year’s group includes some of the finest rides we have ever tested. They range from a high-style muscle bike, a die-hard old-school chopper and a cut-down dresser. All bikes on our list have super cool styling, smooth power trains and features galore. As always, our picks are all production bikes, but there is not one among them that doesn’t have the look of a serious custom bike.

We are presenting the bikes in alphabetical order and although there were several other companies that build custom bikes, we selected these brands based on their conforming to DOT and EPA regulations and being listed in the NADA Guide.

Rucker Performance

Bill Rucker has been producing bikes for more years that he would like to admit. We really like his Predator; it is styled close to the ground, for that ultimate visual in a muscle pro-street ride. With its 124-inch S&S motor and 6-speed right-side drive transmission, it runs as well as any on the road. It features Arlen Ness controls, a 300 series rear tire and custom billet wheels.
