Rucker Performance Super Gas
SPEED
Bob Drapp just missed the No.1 spot in qualifying, running a 9.705 on the 9.70- index to land the N. 2 spot. However, he made sure he didn't end up second on race day, advancing to the final and defeating Brett DeGood with a 9.83 to a 9.56. It was the third consecutive Super Gas event for Drapp.
"I have great equipment and a nice smooth DG chassis that makes it easy to drive," he said. "It’s the best shot I've ever had at the championship."
He just missed winning a championship in 2003, falling a mere 13 points short in Super Eliminator and feels as if this could be the year for redemption.
"I spent a lot of time building the motor and we’ve had some good breaks," he noted. "Everything has fallen into place and we’ve had some great luck."
Drapp thanked his team owner Tony Mione, and Gulf Coast Racing.
