V-Twin Magazine Recognizes Rucker Performance Assassin as 2005 Top 10 Motorcycle
Fort Worth, Texas – Rucker Performance earned the prestigious honor of making V-Twin magazine’s Top 10 Bikes of 2005 in the July issue. The Assassin, the formidable American Muscle Bike, captured the Top 10 spot with unrivaled technology and style in the custom bike industry.
"When developing the Assassin Motorcycle, we started out with a clean slate," explained Bill Rucker, President of Rucker Performance. "Our design goal was to set a new benchmark in performance, radical looks and cutting edge materials to deliver the most integrated and best handling pro-street style American Muscle Bike in the marketplace today. We met our goals by synthesizing new materials and design ideas with proven technology.
"The heart of the Assassin is the show polished S&S Twin Cam style 124 cubic inch fuel injected motor that produces 130 horsepower and 137 ft-lbs. of torque. The VFI Tuned Induction System is a standard feature on the Assassin that allows for dual independent-tuned intake tracks. The system creates a natural "supercharging" effect and provides the greatest possible performance gains.
"Bill (Rucker) is always on the cutting edge," said S&S President, Brett Smith. "He has vision and is not afraid of taking risks and implementing new products to position his company as a market leader."
The rubber-mounted Assassin uses innovative technology such as the Indy-style cantilever rear suspension that completely masks the shock absorber from view and carbon fiber composite materials for weight reduction. Rucker Performance employs aerospace manufacturing techniques to uniformly assemble the uniquely designed gas tank.
To create the right custom look, Rucker uses the exclusive Roger Goldammer front end - the slickest front end around. Starting with a 120 pound solid billet block of 6061 aircraft quality aluminum, he machines and completes the pieces using only the latest 3D CNC equipment.
"One reason the Assassin was chosen as an Easyriders Top 10 motorcycle for 2005 is everyone knows that if Bill Rucker builds it, you can bet it’s a quality machine," said Dave Nichols, Editor in Chief, Paisano Publications.
