About Spencer Massey
Spencer Massey is living his dream of racing. 2007 marks his second year as driver for the Rucker Performance Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster team. Awarded the Rookie of the Year and Driver of the Year titles in 2006, Massey started his Top Alcohol racing career with unmatched success. In 2006, Spencer made it to seven final rounds with two wins. He won the Division Four championship and finished the year placing third in the nation.
Spencer has followed his passion for racing since the age of four. He started working on race cars at the age of 11. Two years later, he had the opportunity to drive the junior dragster and continued for three consecutive years, winning the Rookie of the Year award at the Texas Motorplex Junior Drag Racing Championships. By age 17, Spencer was a super comp dragster driver.
Throughout his career in racing, Spencer has been known on and off the strip for his drive, precision, technical knowledge and consistency. He has spent more than 13 years building cars from start to finish, mastering what it takes to make a dragster the most powerful racing machine. Between 2001 and 2004, Spencer worked for Scott Palmer’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Top Fuel Dragster Team as a crew chief. In 2005, he worked as a crew member for Aaron Olivarez Lucas Oil Top Alcohol drag racing team.
In 2006, Snow offered Spencer the chance of a lifetime – the opportunity to drive his top alcohol dragster in division four. "Spencer has the talent and experience in drag racing to win the championship," said racing legend Snow. "I asked Spencer to drive this car because he is one of the top drivers in the country."
Whether it is the adrenaline rush of driving or building and rebuilding a dragster motor, Spencer is ready to race this season.
