1955 Hot Rod
Restoration

Bill Rucker decided to build his dream car, the kind of car he wanted to own when he was in high school. He kept an eye out for a deal and found a 1955 Chevy to restore.

Beginning the Process

The initial hit list included body work, interior, power train and braking. Rucker Performance began working on the body and chassis upgrades while Bill focused on the new 575 horsepower mill.

Bill dropped in a 427 big block with roller cam, Hooker headers, Holley 750 and NOS. To handle the horsepower, a Phoenix transmission Turbo 400 with a 2800 rpm stall speed converter was added.

Chassis

Rucker Performance upgraded the brakes and installed a 12-bolt posi-track Chevy rear end. After the Rucker Performance team buttoned the upholstery they sprayed on silver metal flake.

The 1955 car not only looks fine, but screams down the quarter mile in 12.40's.
