1960 Impala

After replacing the motor and installing an aftermarket heating and air conditioning unit, owner Bobby Pickard felt Rucker Performance was the perfect place to restore his 1960 Chevrolet Impala.

Bobby, Rucker Performance’s Drag Specialties motorcycle parts representative, has made countless visits to the Rucker Performance facility, seeing the quality work we produce in our automotive shop first hand.

We dove into the project and started on the paint and bodywork. Media blasting the car uncovered several rust holes with poor bodywork completed prior to the car’s arrival to Rucker Performance. The crew cut out and replaced all the damaged panels, preparing the Impala for paint.

The dash was stripped and everything was cleaned and painted, giving the Impala a like new appearance. It received a beautiful red and white paint job, and was sent off to the trim shop for interior replacement.

As impressive as the paint job and bodywork looked, there was still a little trouble under the hood. After discussing the idea with Bobby, Tommy rewired the entire engine compartment while cleaning up under the hood, resulting in a neater and sharper appearance.
